Why are we called Baker Baker Health?
Our name is inspired by a story of resilience, determination and success.
Baker Baker & Co was a thriving drapery business in 19th-century Bristol, owned by our founder’s great-grandfather, Hiatt Baker.
But the journey to success wasn’t easy. Hiatt’s father and uncle, sons of a bankrupt farmer, moved to Bristol in search of a fresh start.
Against the odds, they took over a fabric store and transformed it into a highly successful business: a true rags-to-riches story.
Hiatt Baker used his success to make a lasting impact. He became Pro-Chancellor of Bristol University, where today, Hiatt Baker Hall stands in his honour.
He was also a talented sportsman, representing Clifton Rugby Club and England.
We are inspired by this legacy of perseverance and transformation.
Just as Hiatt Baker helped shape education and opportunity, we are dedicated to transforming lives through high-quality healthcare.
