Our Founder:
Founded by Dr Chris Hewer, a highly experienced GP with over 10 years of experience in producing these essential reports. He has held key roles including:
- Named Doctor for Children in Care in Gloucestershire.
- Medical Advisor for the Permanency Team in Gloucestershire.
- CoramBAAF Health Advisory Committee member– recently involved in reviewing the Adult Health medical process
- Collaborating with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health to set standards for Initial Health Assessments in the UK
For more than a decade, Dr Hewer has been part of a team delivering GP-led assessments in Gloucestershire. Over the last 7 years, he led the services offering Initial Health Assessments (IHAs) and Prospective Carer Reports, consistently achieving near 100% compliance with the mandatory 28-day timeframe, barring factors beyond our control.

Baker Baker Health are now offering our these specialist services to other areas within the UK, including:
- Initial Health Assessments (IHAs) for children entering care
- Adult Health Reports (AH) Part C medical examinations for carers, using records from the carers' GPs
- Adoption Medical Reports, summarising health information and providing insights on a carer’s ability to support young people, prepared for the Social Services Panel.
